Amor is a preferent Gelderlander stallion, imported by the Sgldt from Holstein at the age of 3. Having elite stallion Amor in the pedigree is a guarantee for dressage performance. Amor had 15 approved sons of which 2 went on to be keur rated. He had 137 keur mares, 136 ster mares with 133 also rated preferent and 61 prestatie. Amor had 58 offspring competing at high levels in Show Jumping and 117 in Dressage. The influence of Amor can still be seen in Dutch performance horses. Amor can be found back in many international dressage horses, not to forget the international dressage star Aktion, who carries Amor's blood twice, once through the preferent Gelderlander stallion Epigoon and once through the Groninger international jumping stallion Akteur. Once-only in 1997 the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses) compiled a ranking of damsires of international sporthorses. There Amor is the only stallion in the world which is listed on the top sires of International dressage horses as well as International jumpers.
