Cantos' father Contender is a top sire and father of Montender, Checkmate and many more International top horses. In the dam line we find Goodtimes who sired many international jumpers, among them are Obelix R and Kris. Cantos is 46.5% English Thoroughbred due to the Stallions: Abgar xx, Cottage Son xx, Ladykiler xx, Koridon xx, Millerole xx, Pericles xx, Rantzau xx, Rittersporn xx and Waldenser xx. Cantos has a very good motherline with mother Gabanta and grandmother Abanta, both jumped at the highest international level. Cantos himself had a succesfull jumping carreer: as a young stallion he won the stallion competition classe M and he won the title ‘Best Young Stallion’ in Zwolle. At international level he jumped succesfully with rider Julia Kayser and placed 2nd in the Grand Prix of Linz and Zuidbroek. He won the Derby in Bathmen and placed highly several times: 5th and 6th in De Steeg, 5th and 7th in Leipzig,7th and 9th in Neustadt-Dosse etc. Cantos is a beautifull stallion with a lot of expression and has a good jumping technique. His offspring have a good jumping technique, a great attitude and a good expression. Cantos is approved by KWPN and NRPS and both declared him ‘keur’.
His oldest offspring already perform on international competitions. Very Nice placed 5th in the finals of the World Championship for 7 year old jumpers, Winston placed 12th in the final of the World Championship for 6 year old jumpers, Watch Me Society won 4 international classes for young jumpers in Zwolle, Hengelo and Neeroeteren. Woody placed 2nd in the final of the young jumpers in Zuidlaren. At national level Cantos’s offspring are doing well also: Society’s Voila (mf. Lux) won the class of the 6 year olds in Etten Leur and was champion Z jumping of the province Utrecht, as 5 year old she placed 3rd in the finals of the World Championship for 5 year olds. In the final of the GMB Wintercompetition it was Cantos’s offspring who won the competition of the 5 and 6 year olds and at the 4 year olds, an offspring of Cantos placed 3rd. Zacantos S (mf. Epilot) and Very Nice placed in the finals of the VION-cup. At Jumping Amsterdam 8 of Cantos’s offspring were in the finals in the classes L, M or Z. At the European Championship Freejumping for 2 year olds, 3 of Cantos’s offspring won the Team Championship. Cambridge individually placed 3rd during this championship.
